Truckers' Supply began in 1969 by D.W. Carr.  D.W. owned Red Hot Truck Stop and realized the need to supply truck shops and drivers with their heavy duty truck needs.  The first store was on 4th Street in Downtown Meridian with only 2 employees.  Today, Truckers' Supply has 12 employees and is in the third generation of the Carr Family.

In a proud statement issued from their company president, Truckers' Supply announced that 2004 is the 35th Anniversary of the founding of their business.

The company was started back in 1969, the same year space flight was part of the lives of all Americans.  Apollo 11 carried the first men to walk on the moon.  We listened to Neil Armstrong say, "One small step for man, one giant leap for man kind" as he took his first steps on the moon.  Astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin brought moon rocks back to earth.

What else happened in 1969?

A crowd estimated at more than a half a million, gathered in New York for a music festival known forever as "Woodstock".

Popular music was Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In, Come Together, Crimson and Clover, When I Die, and Honkey Tonk Woman.

Many things happened for the first time this year.  We struggled for the first time with childproof prescription bottles and ate Chunky Soup by Campbell's.

Yes, when you think about it, things have changed a lot in 35 years.

But, after all this time there are some things which have remained the same.

One good thing is that Truckers' Supply is still around and thriving after 35 years of hard work and lots of dedication by everyone involved...and most importantly, caring about customers who helped us reach this milestone.
